Good News

Resting in the truth of the gospel has been transformational for me. God has made it so easy for me as a believer to be saved through his son Jesus.

He has already done the work. How beautiful is that?

And because I’m saved by what he did on the cross, I’m able to joyfully live my life in Christ. He is what gives me purpose and meaning.

I often find myself focusing on the complicated theological questions that arise in my Christian faith. And although these are important, it’s been life-changing for me to focus more on the gospel. The simple, infinitely beautiful gospel.

Paul says in his letter to the Corinthians:

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power” (1 Cor 1:17).

Lofty language and complicated theology aren’t needed to understand the good news.

This week I’ll be meditating on this verse.

Grow in His grace. Be shaped by His hands. Walk the everlasting way.

God bless you,

Trevor
