Considering my 100th newsletter was sent out last week, I wanted to go back and look at some of my posts over the past few years. I compiled some of my favorite excerpts. Hope you find value in them like I have:

“Resting in the truth of the gospel has been transformational for me. God has made it so easy for me as a believer to be saved through his son Jesus.

He has already done the work. How beautiful is that?

And because I’m saved by what he did on the cross, I’m able to joyfully live my life in Christ. He is what gives me purpose and meaning.”

“With my identity attached to being a morally upright person, I was bound to fail. I would always fall short, and in doing so, I began to crumble.

But when Jesus became my spiritual backbone, I wasn’t blown around by the winds of life anymore. My identity became fully rooted in the loving, all-powerful, and unchanging God of the universe.

I’m here to tell you, my friend, that Jesus is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. He is the only backbone that will last.”

“However, when I am able to step out of my tunnel vision and take a birds-eye view, my perspective changes. I can see that work isn’t the end-all-be-all. I realize that in the grand scheme of things, this stressful moment or series of moments isn’t important. And why should I stress over something that isn’t important?

This is far easier said than done, but the importance of taking a step back and changing your lens cannot be understated.”

“On a similar note, I often treat reading my Bible, praying, and spending time in Christian community like shores. I finish them for the day, then don’t worry about them until tomorrow.

This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. God constantly calls us to enter a deeper relationship with Him. And instead of just going through the motions, my focus this week is to understand what a blessing it is to have a Bible to read. In many parts of the world, believers don’t have that luxury.”

“As humans, we feed off others. If they are positive, we tend to lean that way. If they are negative, we tend to follow in their footsteps.

And in the same way, others feed off you.”

I always like looking back on my posts and seeing the different thoughts and ideas I had at the time of writing them. I hope you found some value in this retrospection. As always…

Keep making progress. Change for the better. Live the Heming-way.

God bless,

Trevor
