Togetherness
I just wrote a longer, more formal post on this topic, but I decided to rewrite it as a simple reminder. Here it is:
There is so much division in the world. Wars, politics, religion, economic status, and more. We continue finding ways to divide.
In my life, I think it’s a lack of ‘togetherness’ more so than division. They sound the same but aren’t.
This lack of togetherness shows up when I forgot there are 8 billion other people in the world. 8 billion human souls meant for connection.
When I forget this, I convince myself that I’m alone in dealing with my struggles. It feels isolating and hopeless.
And unfortunately, over time, the worldly part of me became accustomed to this feeling and actually finds comfort in it. This makes it harder and harder to break away from it.
It doesn’t make sense logically. Why would I find comfort in downheartedness? Well, most problems aren’t logical ones.
But I wasn’t created to be in isolation. You weren’t either.
I was created to watch sunsets and hug others. I was created to smile and to die of laughter. I was created to have hope through hardships and to hold fast to the faith. And in everything, I was made to glorify God.
We weren’t made to split each time there’s a disagreement. I want to stand firm in my beliefs, but always with patience, love, and the goal of unity.
I think sometimes what the human soul needs is the touch of another human soul.
We are one body. I don’t want to forget that.
This is a reminder for myself, and I decided to share it in case you can relate. We all go through hard seasons where it’s difficult to remember you’re loved. You’re not alone in that.
I know that how I feel isn’t who I am. My identity is a child of God, and that will never change.
Grow in His grace. Be shaped by His hands. Walk the everlasting way.
God Bless,
Trevor
